On Sunday night, McQueen finally came home. The brand returned to the London Fashion Week calendar, showing it’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection in the UK for the first time in 25 years. And while the runway show took place in a spooky subterranean 17th century chapel, the stars were definitely out that night. Celebs like Lila Moss, Alexa Chung, Emma Corrin, and Siouxsie Sioux all graced the FROW to take in creative director Seán McGirr’s latest creations that emphasized couture craftsmanship in all its many forms. The new collection features McGirr’s ornate takes on a number of house signatures, like sumptuously embroidered and expertly tailored blazers, a convertible pump that provides a much more wearable take on Alexander McQueen’s iconic Armadillo heel, and a number of heavily-ornamented gowns made in collaboration with master jeweler Shaun Leane, whose work was likewise a staple of Lee’s shows.
