Lili Reinhart is in her brunette era. The Riverdale actress debuted significantly darker hair for the first time this week via a selfie posted to Instagram, in which she posed with Ali Hazelwood’s novel The Love Hypothesis. Reinhart was recently cast to star in the book’s film adaption, per Deadline. She will also serve as executive producer.

The Love Hypothesis follows protagonist Olive Smith (played by Reinhart) who fakes a relationship with professor Adam Carlsen (played by Tom Bateman) to “convince her best friend that she’s moved on.” Claire Scanlon is slated to direct and Elizabeth Cantillon is producing alongside Reinhart.
“Honestly, I still can’t believe this is happening? Elizabeth Cantillon, Claire Scanlon, and Lili Reinhart have all created, produced, or starred in works that I’m absolutely feral about, and I am beyond honored that they’re choosing to bring their talent to this project,” Hazelwood said in a statement. “Books and films are very different media, and I have complete trust in this brilliant team. I cannot wait to see the final product they’ll come up with. I hope they have as much fun filming as I had while writing the book.”

Reinhart also stars in the first season of Hal & Harper, a comedy-slash-drama about two siblings and their single dad. The actress won Series Mania’s Best Actress Award for her role in the show. Her most recent film, American Sweatshop, premiered this March at South by Southwest.
“it’s just been exciting for me,” She told The Hollywood Reporter on the eve of the film’s release. “Everything that kind of comes out or is going to come out post-Riverdale, I think it’s just kind of a different view of me as an actor, and so it’s been exciting for me to kind of enter that new chapter of my life, basically, and get more work out there, things that people haven’t seen me do before.”
