Ronnie Dunn had some help at his latest tour stop with Morgan Wallen.
Brooks & Dunn opened for Wallen’s I’m the Problem Tour stop at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday, July 12. The duo came back out on stage to perform “Whiskey Glasses” with the headliner later in the evening, and fans noticed Dunn, 72, using a lyric cheat sheet — so the singer took to Instagram with a funny video explanation.
The clip opened with Dunn singing “Whiskey Glasses” while walking around the venue. “I’m about to go on and sing a Morgan Wallen song that I don’t know,” said the 72-year-old performer, as text appeared on the screen that read, “Ronnie = Dyslexic.”
“But look at this,” continued Dunn, holding up the lyric cheat sheet. “If I can read it, it’ll be okay.”
After some footage of Brooks & Dunn’s opening set, Dunn’s seen coming back on stage with Wallen for “Whiskey Glasses” while holding the piece of paper. “Where is the paper?” read more text on the screen at the end of the clip.
In the post’s caption, Dunn jokingly admitted about one of Brooks & Dunn’s classic hits, “Hell, I’m still learnin’ NEON MOON 🙂 Love WHISKEY GLASSES… be patient… RD #papergate #wheresthepaper”
Miami marked the Country Hall of Fame duo’s first of six total shows with Wallen on his I’m the Problem Tour.
Last year, Brooks & Dunn released their latest album, REBOOT II, which includes reimagined versions of their songs with artists such as Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett and Cody Johnson — plus a version of “Neon Moon” with Wallen.
“We had no plans of doing it again,” Kix Brooks told PEOPLE in February, referencing their original 2019 REBOOT album. “We just figured, ‘that was cool and that was successful and that was good and I’m glad it worked,’ but that was about it.”

Dunn admitted he and Brooks, 70, were just along for the ride while making the project. “We just had to hang on and jump in and come prepared for anything,” he said.
When it came to remaking “Neon Moon” with Wallen, Brooks said the “Last Night” artist “didn’t want mess with it” and went with a rendition faithful to the original. He explained, “I guess in his opinion, it was already done.”
