Cariuma Just Launched New Mary Jane Sneakers

Something good is brewing over at Cariuma, and we can hardly wait. 

The brand just rolled out its fresh new Oca Mary Janes, which should sound semi-familiar if you’re a fan of the brand. Of course, the style is entirely new, and one that is its very own take on the ballet sneaker trend — but it’s more than that, too. The kicks come with many of the same comfortable designs as its beloved Oca Low sneakers that even Gabrielle Union has worn. 

They’re available for pre-order in four colors now — Black Nappa Leather, Leopard Print Suede, Warm White Leather, and Withered Rose — and should arrive at your doorstep sometime in late August. It may seem like a long way out, but sizes are already running low in stock, so we’d order as soon as possible.

These Mary Janes have a leather exterior (and also come in a suede option!) that’s going to be more durable than canvas pairs, so they should last for many seasons to come. Canvas is more breathable, which is why they have an “organic cotton canvas” lining to keep your feet cool and comfortable while walking. 

The rubber soles of the shoes look identical to the brand’s best-selling sneakers and come equipped with ridges and grooves for better hold and grip. The insoles are also made from cork and mamona oil, meaning the strappy pairs should be “ridiculously comfortable,” like reviewers say of their sister sneaker style.

They also have buckle details and an adjustable strap across the top of the foot, so they can fit snugly like your favorite sneakers. This instantly elevates their look, and depending on your office attire, may just make the difference between a pair of shoes that’s work-friendly and a pair that isn’t. Plus, they’re easier to commute in than a pair of heels. 

You can wear them with a midi skirt and pretty blouse during your 9 to 5, or throw them together with something more casual like jeans and a sweater à la Katie Holmes. (Bermuda shorts and Mary Janes are my personal go-to combo!)
