A toddler died earlier this week after falling from her father’s arms while they were going down a slide at a waterpark on the island of Rab in Croatia, according to multiple local news outlets.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 22 at Aquagan Lopar, 24 Sata reported.
The publication stated that the victim, whose family hasn’t been named, fell from a height of around 11 ft., 5 in., and landed on a concrete surface while going down a slide with her dad.
The girl was 21 months old and a German citizen, Jutarnji reported.
Local police confirmed in a news release on Wednesday, July 23, that an accident occurred involving a child from Germany. The translated post stated that the child had died from her injuries after falling from the slide.
Police had no additional details to add when contacted by PEOPLE.

The girl’s father reportedly said while kneeling by her side after the fall, “Don’t ask me anything… my daughter is dying!” according to 24 Sata, which stated that the child was taken by helicopter to the Rijeka Clinical Hospital.
The hospital confirmed she died the next morning after suffering multiple serious injuries, including brain and internal organ injuries, 24 Sata reported.

The waterpark’s owner, Josip Ivanić, said, according to Jutarnji: “It’s a tragedy for us, for the family, for everyone.”
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the girl’s death, police said.
Ivanić said that something like this had “never happened” in the park, which he’d managed for over 30 years.
