When Andy Warhol famously said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes,” it was an assertion no one could have realized would turn out to be so prophetic. But as with most things, the Interview founder was wildly ahead of his time, so naturally we lament the fact that he’ll never know just how right he was about culture today. Last week, we celebrated the pop art pioneer’s 98th birthday with a collection of Warhol’s many appearances in the magazine along with an exclusive birthday letter from friend and muse Diane von Furstenberg. To keep the festivities going, we tapped Interview staff to sound off on all the things he would’ve been obsessed with in the big ‘26. The list includes some obvious declarations and some that may be up for debate. From Love Island to looksmaxxers, all we can say is: RIP, Andy. You would’ve loved all of this shit.

“Shake Shack. There’s a famous video of Andy eating burgers. It was supposedly his favorite food.”

“Smutty Tumblr fan fics. Andy would appreciate the collective desire to take someone else’s art and make it horny and demented.”

“Andy Warhol would have loved Grindr. He’d be a blank-profile troll lurking fourteen feet away, scrolling the meat map of torsos, biceps, and jockstraps. He’d make plans constantly and keep none. He’d adore the dreary transaction—the headless bodies, unsolicited anatomy, the married men twelve miles away who can only host from 2:15 to 2:40 every other Thursday. It would give him a good chuckle.”

“GLP-1s, Botox, and peptides. Andy would love that beauty, youth, and thinness are now physical consumer goods you can buy like a soup can off the shelf and inject. Plus, no one knew better than him that in a world where you’re only famous for 15 minutes, you gotta get hot FAST.”

“Yuja Wang. She doesn’t just play the piano. She owns the room. She brings something sexy and cool, making an otherwise boring performance entertaining. Whether she’s wearing a tiny neon dress or a crystal-covered mini, she makes every performance feel like a fashion moment. She’s proof that talent and style don’t have to live in separate worlds, and Andy would’ve eaten that up.”
