Katie Zacharia, a former DHS spokesperson and cable news talking head, will be the new mouthpiece for the administration
Conservative commentator and Truth Social communications adviser Katie Zacharia has been tapped to replace former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The New York Times was the first to report the news, which has since been confirmed by multiple outlets.
Zacharia, who previously served as a junior spokesperson for former Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, is an avid social media user with public connections to the MAGA universe, and a talking head on major conservative news channels.
Complying with a de-facto job requirement in the Trump White House, Zacharia has promoted false claims that the 2020 election was fraudulently “stolen” from Trump.
Zacharia has put out statements covering all kinds of bizarre, conspiratorial, and reactionary content. Earlier this year, she thirsted over a video of a controversial video of an ICE agent wearing a luxury watch. “I like my ICE like I like my news…blazin’ hot,” she wrote.
In 2025, she claimed that mifepristone, the prescription drug most commonly used in medical abortions, “is connected to the manufacturer of the deadly gas Zyklon B, used in the World War II concentration camps.”
She also defended Truth Social’s scheme to promote insider trading in financial markets by selling “early access” to Trump’s posts at the affordable price of $100,000 a month. “They’re not getting insider trading information. They’re getting early access,” she rationalized.
All in all, it looks like she’ll fit in quite well within the lineage of Trump press secretaries to control the podium.
