De La Rosa was a rising singer who performed under the stage name DELAROSA. She released her first song in August 2025 titled “No Me Llames,” which translates to “Don’t Call Me” in English.
She actively updated her Instagram account with personal and professional life moments, while also creating a loyal following of more than 40,000 followers.
De La Rosa’s final post was shared on October 30. It included several photos of her playing guitar in the studio as she worked on music. “Busy cookin in the Stu,” she captioned the post in Spanish. “It’s about that time.. GAME TIME BABY.”

How Did Maria De La Rosa Die?
De La Rosa was fatally shot in what authorities described as an ambush-style attack in the San Fernando Valley, according to ABC 10. Two others were critically wounded in the incident, though their identities have not been publicly confirmed.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed De La Rosa was sitting in a parked vehicle in Northridge around 1:30 a.m. when she was shot. The singer was transported to a local hospital after the shooting, where she eventually died.
Witnesses reported seeing two men approach De La Rosa’s vehicle at around 1:25 a.m., according to LAPD officials. The suspects shot off multiple rounds at the vehicle and struck all three occupants.

Was Anyone Arrested in Connection to Maria De La Rosa’s Death?
Detectives believe the shooting was a gang related incident, per NBC Los Angeles.
Days after the shooting, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed that three men have been identified as suspects in connection to De La Rosa’s death. Both Francisco Otilio Gaytan and Benny LiconGomez have been arrested, while an arrest warrant has been issued for Eduardo Lopez.
“This was a ruthless and targeted attack that stole the life of a young woman and artist and inflicted profound lifelong trauma on her family and the two survivors,” Hochman said in the statement on November 26.
