On June 13, 2026, the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs and were officially crowned NBA Finals champions, their first win since 1973. Even without the head-spinning comebacks (they made history during Game Four after coming back from a 29-point deficit), or the riotous die-hard fan culture, a championship win is a momentous occasion for any city, but especially one that’s infamous for losing. Since Game One, the city has shown up in historic numbers for their perfectly-imperfectly perfect home team. When they finally won it all in Game Five, it kicked off a period of renewed peace and prosperity throughout the five boroughs, some kind of athletic vengeance giving way to an epic catharsis. For the most part, that catharsis manifested itself as people going out and getting incredibly fucked up. On that Saturday night, Interview visited Le Bain—where rapper KennyHoopla and band Monobloc were on the bill—to document The Night The Knicks Won.
